Over the weekend, despite the freeeezing weather, I went out on a small assignment shoot- The Character Portrait. My trusty bearded friend Ian and I went out to a local cementary ( they aren't so creepy in the heart of winter), grabbed some snow, and went to work.
This was an available light portrait, shot around 3 o'clock in the afternoon. I wanted a fairly rugged appearance, so as to seem that he had been out in the weather for days. The semi-harsh shadows and uneven light helped me achieve this.
