This morning Dalton and I went for a walk checking out new locations for sessions.
On our way back out of the trail, we met two friends playing in the pond, Neil and Ralph.
Their owners were nice enough to let us hangout and demand the throw more sticks for a little bit, and to them I say thank you!
Neil was an extraordinarily cooperative model, and I was able to capture something even better than I had hoped for!
In August, I got to enjoy some down time with some lovelies at with Dalton at his family's cottage. The Georgian Bay is always so relaxing for us, and they have a little piece of its heaven.
As always, my camera came with me and on the last day I just had to get some images of these cuties.
Zen, Lotus, and Keoni
This morning I had a fantastic equine portrait session with Meghan and her horse, Ollie.
It was a bit brisk, but it led to being able to have more fun without overheating Ollie or ourselves.
Here is a little peak,
Welcome Ollie! It was a blast!
Yesterday was a gorgeous way to end 2016, with my last session of the year, but also my first of 2018's Calendar sessions.
I also got to meet Holly, a lovely 20 year old paint mare, who has been rescued into a loving home.
She was a sweet heart, never batted a stunning blue eye, and treked through the snow with her mom, while her new "sister" Dakota ran circles around us.
Once a year, (and this year twice!) I get the joy of working with Father Christmas himself to raise money for pet related charities and groups in Ontario.
On Saturday, November 26th, we were at Greenhawk in Beamsville to raise money for Whispering Hearts horse rescue.
The images below are from that event!
And this Sunday, December 11th, we will be at Whispering Hearts in Hagersville at their open house!
So make the drive, come out, donate, and have a good time!
See you there!
This week I have had the joy of borrowing this hand crafted violin to photograph it. This is handmade by Lethbridge Musical Instruments. It features an Engelmann spruce top, sugar maple back, neck, and ribs, macassar ebony fingerboard and fittings, and black willow corner blocks and bass bar. As always, it's got a layer of his quartz-based ground coat, but this one received a specially-processed oil varnish which sets it (and its one-piece back) apart from anything he has done before. Also worth noting: this violin hasn't seen a single powertool over the course of its production. I couldn't resist the opportunity to get some product images of it, and I am so grateful to know some of the people I do. Thank you Taylor for the chance, and for the craftsmanship you provide.
Last week I got together with Brittney and her herd for a Calendar Session.
There was laughter, craziness, and unintentional cuteness. Meet her three amigos,
Nicholas, Diego, and Mouse!
(this is the definition of cuteness!)
Last night, I had an awesome time with a gorgeous pup name Babe and her momma Sophie. We went for a little walk on some trails and in some fields, and although it was hot, I couldn't have asked for a better client. She is one of my many 2017 Calendar sessions, and she is more than cute enough to fit the bill!
