Here's Blair! As I mentioned before, it was fantastic to work with him. And yes- the fire is real, and shot in camera, with him, all at the same time. This is basically how it looked directly in camera, i only did some minor retouching, and some sharpening to achieve this. I used Speedotron lighting equipment, a Hassleblad H3D camera and 120mm lens Initially, we had planned to do a bottle smashing theme for this project. But Blair and I both wanted to do a flame, and we managed to get it in at the end of the day. Here are some behind the scenes of the studio shoot (during practice bottle drops). I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! PS. Please don't judge my rain boots- its slushy outside.
I also had three assistants with me - Nirvanie ( http://nirvaniesrikishun-photography.tumblr.com ) - who captured these lovely BTS shots, Kristi ( http://www.kristirexphotography.com/index.html ) - who is running the Phocus capture for me, and Tammy, Blair's lovely wife, who got the honours of dropping the glass over her hubby's head!
