Lucy and her mom Shayna were awesome to work with this past weekend. Lucy did amazing as a first time model, responded really well to all of the new we were putting her through, and she got the cookies she deserved. Here is a little more from Lucy's session on Saturday!

I would like to let all my clients, current and future, that as of January 5th, 2018, standard session fees will be increasing from $125.00 to $200.00. This price change comes from rising overhead costs, the soon purchase of better equipment and printed products, and the addition of each session receiving a 8x10 print of their choosing.
I am hoping with this price increase, I can give you better end products through higher quality images, high end quality, mounted prints, and a wider range of printed products, including canvases and books. Images will now be printed on deep matte photographic paper, mounted to provide rigidity, heavier weight, and durability. I hope that I am able to provide you with better service, quicker turn around times, and hopefully spring a increase in printed products to proudly display in your homes. I would love to hear your feedback about this change, and I have updated the pricing lists and have displayed all of the coming options for printed products under the "Info" tab. Also, if there are any products that you would like me to look into having, please let me know! I would love to improve and give you what you want! In the end, this comes from a need and desire to give you, my fantastic clients, more! (This adjustment will not effect any currently purchased gift certificates, wedding packages, or calendar sessions) fotoferg.by.design@gmail.com This week I have had the joy of borrowing this hand crafted violin to photograph it. This is handmade by Lethbridge Musical Instruments. It features an Engelmann spruce top, sugar maple back, neck, and ribs, macassar ebony fingerboard and fittings, and black willow corner blocks and bass bar. As always, it's got a layer of his quartz-based ground coat, but this one received a specially-processed oil varnish which sets it (and its one-piece back) apart from anything he has done before. Also worth noting: this violin hasn't seen a single powertool over the course of its production. I couldn't resist the opportunity to get some product images of it, and I am so grateful to know some of the people I do. Thank you Taylor for the chance, and for the craftsmanship you provide. They grabbed a basket of balls at the driving range, and the owner said, "you won't have time to hit all of those, the storm will be here in half an hour". And he wasn't lying! The clouds came rolling in and the rain just started to fall for his last drive. We had enough time to get to our trucks and put everything away before it came down like a sheet. This picture has so many pieces for me, the curve in the driver from his swing, the tee still hasn't hit the ground, and the ball is still in flight. And the rain drops falling down. When I shot this, I don't think I had felt a drop yet! Look closely and you will see all these things that made this picture perfect for me. I have been nominated as one of your favourite Photography Studios in Waterloo Region! Thank you! There are so many deserving nominees in this category! If you would like to encourage my nomination, Please follow this link and click "Nominate" beside Fotoferg By Design! Thank you again! Also, if you feel like sharing, retweeting, anything this post, please do! Thank you Thank you! So for the past few years, I have been collecting vintage cameras. Some are older than others, and some are more interesting. I am still just starting this adventure into collecting them, learning so much history along the way. It is so fascinating to learn how they are made, how they work, all the different film/paper types, and so much more. I hope to continue being able to learn and grow my collection as the years go on, and to be able to share what I've learned about them with others. I hope you enjoy learning about them as much as I do! But for now, here are a small selection of them, and I will post more as I get more photos finished of the rest. Dalton looked at me over the winter break and said "you never take pictures of me anymore". So yesterday, we took advantage of the beautiful weather and drove, without a destination in mind. I had been so busy with other things I forgot how much fun it was to go out and just capture the one who matters most to me. It's a bonus he is so cute as well! (though I may be slightly biased) ;) Fall is a wonderful time to book a photo session. Yesterday I did some more images of two kids that I've had the pleasure of working with in the past. Book your own today! Sometimes, moments just make you wonder if your subject saw you (and struck a pose), or they are just honestly this happy to have made it as far as they have. Judging by the rest of the images I captured of her round, she is just genuinely pleased, and so she should be! |
