This week I have had the joy of borrowing this hand crafted violin to photograph it. This is handmade by Lethbridge Musical Instruments. It features an Engelmann spruce top, sugar maple back, neck, and ribs, macassar ebony fingerboard and fittings, and black willow corner blocks and bass bar. As always, it's got a layer of his quartz-based ground coat, but this one received a specially-processed oil varnish which sets it (and its one-piece back) apart from anything he has done before. Also worth noting: this violin hasn't seen a single powertool over the course of its production. I couldn't resist the opportunity to get some product images of it, and I am so grateful to know some of the people I do. Thank you Taylor for the chance, and for the craftsmanship you provide.

I have been nominated as one of your favourite Photography Studios in Waterloo Region! Thank you! There are so many deserving nominees in this category! If you would like to encourage my nomination, Please follow this link and click "Nominate" beside Fotoferg By Design! Thank you again! Also, if you feel like sharing, retweeting, anything this post, please do! Thank you Thank you! Saturday was a night of learning. I learned that no, not everything will go to plan. But I also learned how to make the very best of what seemed like a hopeless situation. In late July-early August, I went camping with my friend Megan in Kincaridne. Here is another photo from the beach, that I'm sure I promised to share but never did! A few weekends ago, I got the pleasure of photographing Kearney and Keltia at The Vineyards church in Cambridge. It was a gorgeous location to work in with two beautiful kiddies to model for me. Here are three of my favourite images from that session!
I just realized now that I never published this post and it's been sitting in my drafts. Time flies when your having fun! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- During the day, I have been shooting behind the scenes and products for the Trillium Hunter Jumper Association at Caledon Pan Am Equestrian Park. At night however, Megan and I have turned our hotel room into a studio. What else would I do anyways!? Here are some portraits from the corner of the room. THJA (Trillium Hunter Jumper Association) provided goodie bags this year to exhibitors at the 2014 Championships. Today, I set up shop in a horse trailer and photographed plaques, medals, ribbons, and some goodies.
I would like to share the lovely toques with you that came in the goodie bags. Thank you to my lovely assistant Megan for also being my lovely model....again! |
